One-legged man provides medical services in village for 39 years

Li Shuanzhou, a 57-year-old village doctor with only one leg in Shanxi Province, has offered medical services to villagers at a remote village for 39 years, China News reported.

Li lost his left leg due to delayed treatment when he was 16. From then on, he became determined to be a village doctor to help other villagers avoid a similar tragedy.

After several years of hard work, Li became a competent doctor. Over the past 39 years, Li has worn out 3 iron walking sticks and 4 tricycles in order to provide his patients with timely medical treatment.

Due to his contributions, Li has been awarded over 20 national certificates.

Li said it is a great honor to be recognized by people and he will continue to serve the villagers in the future.
