A charging station for electric buses
The number of China’s new-energy vehicles in the transportation sector is projected to hit 600,000 by 2020, Spokesperson Wu Chungeng said at a regular press briefing of China’s Ministry of Transport, China News reported on Nov. 23.
Wu said the number of new-energy buses and all new-energy vehicles in China’s transportation sector will reach 200,000 and 300,000, respectively, by the end of this year, and the figure for all such vehicles is projected to hit 600,000 by 2020.
He added that China has made remarkable progress in promoting new-energy vehicles in recent years, which has played a significant role in the technological upgrading of China’s new-energy automobile industry and in air pollution prevention.
