former cyberspace administration chief Lu Wei is under investigation for suspected "severe violation of Party discipline," according to a statement posted on Tuesday on the website of the Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC).

Lu is the first ministerial-level official who has been probed following the conclusion of the 19th National Congress of the CPC.
