Saturday marked one month since China's new generation "Fuxing," or rejuvenation, bullet trains increased their maximum speed on the Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway to 350 kph. Statistics showed that the bullet train has become the first choice for many travelers.

According to the latest data released by Beijing Railway Administration on Friday, the Fuxing bullet trains had carried a total of 460,000 passengers on the Beijing-Shanghai route over the past month, with a 96.4 percent attendance rate.

The Fuxing trains were put into operation in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei area and on the Beijing-Guangzhou route on August 21. By October 19, they had carried 1.12 million travelers with an 83 percent attendance rate in the north, and 420,000 passengers on the Beijing-Guangzhou route with the attendance rate of 100 percent.

The trains have a sophisticated monitoring system that automatically brakes in the event of an emergency or abnormal running conditions. The train can also be adapted to various geological and operational situations, including extreme climates, a core competitive strength in the global market.
