New documents about the atrocities committed by the notorious Japanese Army Unit 731, a germ war unit once stationed in northeast China’s Heilongjiang province, have recently been discovered in the US.

The discovery includes 2,000 newly decoded documents, and the original manuscript of an epidemic prevention report by a medical school of the US Army.

The documents were collected under the joint efforts of scholars with the Unit 731 Research Center of Harbin Academy of Social Sciences and US scholars from the National Archives, the US National Library, and Stanford University.

Experts said the documents have special historic, academic, and practical values, and will enrich the archives of the Unit 731 International Information Center.
