One of China’s most-wanted overseas fugitives turned himself in on Monday after spending five years in the United States, the anti-corruption authorities said.

Xu Xuewei, 48, was the general manager of a technology company in Jiangyin city in east China’s Jiangsu Province accused of contract fraud, who fled to the US in November 2012, the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) said in an online statement.

No further details were given in the statement.

As part of the anti-corruption drive, China has launched an overseas search dubbed “Operation Fox Hunt” for corrupt officials and business executives who fled abroad.

In April 2015, the CCDI published a list of 100 most wanted suspects hiding overseas.

Xu is the 46th on the list to have returned to China since the operation was launched, the statement said.

The suspect topping that list, Yang Xiuzhu, confessed to corruption charges in court in July, has returned to China from the US after 13 years as a fugitive.
