Recently, Pu’er Jingdong Yi Autonomous County was named "home of Presbytis Phayrei in China” by China Wildlife Conservation Association. This is the second time for the county to be honored with a title of animal land after “the Land of Nomascus Nasutus in China” in 2008. In addition, Jingdong becomes the only county that has won two titles of animal land in China.
There are about 2,000 presbytis phayrei on Wuliang Mountain, Jingdong County, and accounting for one third of the number of presbytis phayrei population in China.
