Ninety percent of nurses in China feel lack of respect from the public

May 12 marks the International Nurses Day. But according to a recent survey by the China Social Welfare Foundation, roughly 90 percent of the more than 50,000 nurses surveyed say they feel lack of respect from the public. For example, the survey found that about 79 percent of the nurses have been injured by medical tools on the job, about 51 percent have suffered psychological trauma on the job, and about 41 percent were treated unfairly by patients or their relatives in the past year.
