Septuagenarian trades in poker for fitness, builds accessible playground

A retired technician has built a public playground within a small grove in Jinan, capital city of East China's Shandong province.

After retiring, 71-year-old Ding Peixin experienced physical discomfort caused by sitting for long periods of time while playing poker. Determined to regain his health, Ding decided to give up the hobby and focus on his body instead. In two years, Ding has built all kinds of fitness equipment with his own two hands, including barbells and dumbbells. The playground has attracted many residents to come exercise.
