On Feb. 7 local time, the United Nations honored the fourth Chinese peacekeeping troops in Mali with Peace Medals of Honor. The UN Secretary-General's Special Representative for Mali, Mahamat Saleh Annadif, attended the award ceremony, along with Chinese ambassador to Mali Lu Huiying and top officials from the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA). Over the past nine months, Chinese peacekeepers have made great contributions to patrols and medical services in Mali. One peacekeeper was killed and several others injured in the line of duty.
