Incredible video footage shows Chinese soldiers building a 3,772-foot-long overpass in just 27 minutes.

Soldiers from the People's Liberation Army built the bridge across the Yangze river, the longest river in the country.

The exercise was conducted in August, however the video has just emerged on the People's Daily Online's YouTube page today.

Fast: The group took part in a training exercise in which they constructed the bridge

The drill, called Yangze River 2016, involved soldiers using modern technology and equipment to construct the bridge.

According to News.hbtv.com, anti-reconnaissance water screens and smoke bombs were used to give the soldiers cover as they completed the exercise to create the bridge.

They put together small pontoons to create the 1,150-metre-long (3772 feet) structure.

Towards the end of the video army vehicles can be seen driving across the man made structure.

It took the group just 26 minutes and 40 seconds to complete the exercise.

People have been discussing the story on social media site QQ.

Impressive skills: The soldiers made the bridge by putting pontoons together.

One user said: 'It would be difficult to build it in a real war.'

While another wrote: 'Maybe they should hold the drill in Japan.'

And one user commented: 'It represents the power of the nation.'
