China’s top press office releases its first app

Beijing-based reporters will have access to reliable government information using their mobile phones with the help of two systems provided and released by China’s top press office Thursday.

"SCIO Release" appand Online Press Briefing Hall, operated by China’s State Council Information Office (SCIO), start trial operation on Dec. 15, 2016 on the New Year Reception of the office.

The "SCIO Release" app,consisting four sections (Newsroom, Briefings, News and My Space), collects official releases of China-related authoritative information, broadcasts and interprets China. This app is a bilingual new media product that focuses on news and provides real-time, reliable, accurate and bilingualinformation to domestic and overseas audiences.

The Online Briefing Hall consists of three zones (Briefing Zone, Interaction Zone and Service Zone) and a hall (My Hall). These arrangements will offer registered reporters with press releases, notices on press coverage and other professional and speedy information service.

The two systems contribute to information construction of the office. SCIO will establish national comprehensive press briefing data platform in the future.

Users can download the SCIO app from app stores.
