The Communist Party of China (CPC) has announced plans to comprehensively strengthen Party discipline at its sixth plenary session, reexamining Party regulations to consolidate the country’s anti-graft drive.

The sixth plenary session of the 18th CPC Central Committee, which kicked off on Oct. 24, will feature the discussion of two documents on Party discipline and inner-party supervision. The three-day session is expected to offer an institutional basis for the country’s anti-corruption campaign.

The session, following which a work report will be delivered to the CPC Central Committee by the Political Bureau, will also include a review of key issues related to the comprehensive management of the Party, the Beijing Times reported.

According to statistics from the Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Central Committee of the CPC, over 100 provincial-level corrupt officials have been punished since the 18th National Congress of the CPC in 2012, while 10 members and 13 alternate members of the 18th Central Committee of the CPC are now under investigation.

The Communist Party of China holds a plenary session at least once a year in Beijing to develop policies and make key decisions. Every Central Committee of the CPC usually holds seven plenary sessions over the course of its five-year term, CCTV reported.
