Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge vandalized by National Day visitors

The Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge in the central Chinese city of Wuhan is a cultural relic that was granted national-level protection in 2013. However, despite its protection, the bridge was unable to escape the effects of uncivilized visitors during the seven-day Chinese National Day holiday. Marks were left in pen on the bridge's body and guard rails, and some tourists even carved directly into the surface. Love confessions and wishes for the future were in abundance, though some tourists simply marked their visits with initials and other small notes.

The Yangtze River Bridge is a two-level bridge extending 1,670 meters from Turtle Hill in Hanyang (the north bank of the Yangtze River) to Snake Hill in Wuchang (the south bank of the Yangtze River).
