10 confirmed dead, 5 still missing from SW China capsizing

CHENGDU, June 9 -- Death toll from a leisure boat capsizing in southwest China's Sichuan Province rose to 10 after more bodies were found, rescuers said on Thursday.

Twelve divers retrieved six bodies from the Bailong Lake in Guangyuan City on Thursday.

So far rescuers have confirmed 10 fatalities, while five others remain missing.

The accident happened on June 4, when a boat with 18 on board capsized in strong gales.

Three survivors are in stable condition.
