"If you can solve this problem in three minutes, I will invite you for dinner tomorrow," said Uncle Zhao, the supervisor of No. 4 Dorm in Zhixing College of Hubei University on May 29, 2016. However, the students, who are all accounting majors, were stumped.

The math question of Uncle Zhao is like the picture showed above. He used match sticks to lay out an equation “6-6=5” and required the student to move one match stick to make the equation true. "Many of the students gave it a try; however, no one could give a correct answer within three minutes. Up until now, only three students have been able to come up with the answer," said Uncle Zhao.

Wang Baishun, a student, took nearly one hour to solve the question: take the vertical stick at the lower right corner of the first 6 and move it to the upper right corner of the second 6, and then look at it upside down, then you will see: 5=8-3.

According to Uncle Zhao, he came across this question on his smart phone and found it to be very interesting. As all the students in the dorm building are accounting majors, he wanted to open up their thinking further using this problem.
