Young girl posts fancy breakfast pictures in memory of lost friend

Wang Meijia, a 23-year-old woman in Beijing, posts pictures of fancy breakfasts everyday as a way to remember a friend who passed away from bone cancer.

Wang met her friend, who was two years younger than her, during a trip to China’s southwest Yunnan province in the summer of 2014.

Learning that the boy suffered from bone cancer, Wang decided to send him pictures of DIY breakfasts made to look like cartoon characters, such as the fox Nick from the Disney hit “Zootopia,” to encourage him in his battle against the disease.

Even though the boy passed away on March 15, Wang has continued with this daily routine. “It has become a habit of mine. I think I will keep doing this,” Wang said, adding that she hopes more people can learn about the boy’s story.
