Sunday marks the beginning of the annual Spring Festival travel around China. A lot of Chinese take train to go back home, others make the journey by bus, car or motorcycle. Huang Changyong, 33, does the trip under his own steam - by running home.

Huang planned to run nine days from Shenzhen of south China's Guangdong Province to Chenzhou, central China's Hunan Province, covering a distance of 600 kilometers. According to the plan, he needs to run 70 kilometers a day.

As of Jan. 24, Huang has already been running for 7 days. If everything goes well, he will arrive at Chenzhou in two days. Currently, Huang is in good physical condition. With 18 years’ experience of running, Huang has kept in good spirits all the way along the journey. A lot of people asked to pose for photo with him along the way.

Huang said he felt more confident when home was getting closer. He was also deeply touched by some friends that he met for the first time who accompanied him to run a full marathon distance during the journey.
