Most Tibetan villages of Heishui County are located in the high mountains at an average altitude of 3,500 meters in the Ngawa Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, in southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region. Seventeen 'one hour hospital' medical service teams were established there in March 2013. The service teams provide assistance to 17 villages and towns, plus 123 administrative villages in the county.

More than 50,000 treatments have now been provided free of charge in residents' homes. The 'one hour hospital' medical team established health records for villagers and made great progress in the high-altitude areas. "It is more convenient for us to receive treatment in our homes," said one patient, Zemu, satisfied and smiling.
