President Xi Jinping met with President François Hollande of France in Beijing on Monday. Hailing the development of Sino-France relationship, both vowed deepened cooperation in nuclear power and airplane manufacture fields.
President Xi emphasized that both sides should be more open to each other, so as to fulfill the potential of bilateral trade and investment. China will encourage overseas investment in France, and also welcomes France to join One Belt One Road Initiative.
To encourage bilateral high-level intellectual exchange, President Xi also urged the initiation of Thousand Internship plan between China and France.
President Hollande highly praised the political trust and dialogue between the two countries. He said that the State Visit to China is to deepen a comprehensive strategic Sino-France cooperation.
President Xi Jinping and President Hollande issued a joint statement on climate change in Beijing on Monday, vowing to promote a working program on accelerating pre-2020 efforts in mitigation, adaptation and support during the Paris climate summit.
