Tibet’s first natural science museum went to trail operation on Oct.1. The museum featured biological specimen from Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, and 4D IMAX cinema to show films. China’s biggest caliber astronomical telescope will also be set in the museum.
The museum takes up 30,000 square meters space and can host 3000 visitors at the same time. The investment was some $63 million.
"It took three years to build up this museum, which fits very well into the architecture around Potala Palace," said staff at the museum.
The trial operation will end on Oct. 10 and the museum will be open to the public afterwards.
