Shanghai Municipal Government issued a new regulation on overseas talents introduction on Tuesday, which makes the procedure for foreign talents working and living in Shanghai much simpler, People's Daily reported.

From now on, international students who have obtained master degree or above in universities in Shanghai can apply for a job right after gradation with a certificate letter issued by Shanghai Free Trade Zone or Zhangjiang Innopark, which eases the previous limit that foreigners who want to find a job in Shanghai should have at least two years of working experience.

According to this new regulation, the permanent resident permit application procedure for high-level foreign talents has been simplified. Designated foreign talents can apply for 5-year working visas and after working three years in Shanghai, they can apply for the permanent resident permit.
