Earlier this month, the murder of 43-year-old Samuel DuBose added fire to a national debate about race and police brutality. Yesterday, the white police officer that shot and killed DuBose was indicted. Though the officer had stated that DuBose tried driving away with the officer caught on to the vehicle, body-cam footage revealed that this was not the case. Instead, the officer tried to open the car, firing shots promptly after.

Three fraternity members from University of Virginia’s Phi Kappa Psi are suing Rolling Stone magazine for defamation. The frat members were included in an article about an alleged gang rape that turned out to lack journalistic integrity. The magazine has said its managing editor is stepping down in light of the lawsuit. Months previous, a UVA dean won $8 million USD in a similar lawsuit.
