MOSCOW, July 22 -- At least 32 people were killed and dozens of others were injured in a string of traffic accidents across Russia on Wednesday.

In the Krasnoyarsk region in Siberia, 11 people were killed and 43 injured when a passenger bus collided head-on with a truck in the morning. Among those hospitalized, five are in critical condition, according to the regional health department.

Another 11 people were killed in Chechnya -- all residents of neighboring Dagestan republic -- when a mini-bus fell 200 meters from a mountain road. Details of the accident remained unclear.

A day of mourning has been declared in both regions.

Earlier in the day, four trucks and two cars collided with each other in the Moscow region, killing two and injuring two more. In the Chelyabinsk region, five people died and two were hospitalized when a Lada car overturned on a highway.

In the Novosibirsk region, a heavy truck collided with a road roller and rammed into road workers, killing three and injuring four others, the Interfax news agency quoted regional police as saying.
