Liu Wenjun was diagnosed with primitive neuroectodermal tumor, a rare tumor which usually occurs in children and young adults under 25 years of age.
After Liu was admitted in college, Huang Qing, his mother, decided to take cares of him on campus. Huang took a job in the cafeteria of the college. She has to washes more than 1,000 dishes each meal. Her monthly wage is 1,900 yuan, barely enough for her son’s medical expenses every month.
Doctors told Huang that her son’s tumor is very rare and he had only seen three cases before. The overall 5 year survival rate is about 53 percent.
After her son got the cancer, the family has spent more than 100,000 yuan on treatments and medicine. Huang has asked all relatives for favors to lend them money. Now Huang Qing is looking for a part time job as maid so that she can have more time with her son and pay back the huge debt she owes.
