ZAGREB, May 23 -- Chinese Vice Premier Liu Yandong on Friday said here that China is willing to step up political mutual trust and win-win cooperation with Croatia in a bid to lift the two countries' all-around partnership to a higher level.
Liu, who was on a visit in Croatia, made the remarks while meeting Croatian Prime Minister Zoran Milanovic in Zagreb.
She expressed hope that both countries complement each other in economic development, by combining Croatia's demand in infrastructure construction and Chinese enterprises' strengths in technologies and capitals, as well as Croatia's location-specific advantages and Chinese firms' willingness to invest in Europe.
Liu said China supports enhanced bilateral cooperation in areas of tourism, education, science and technology, and personnel and culture, and welcomes a more active role of Croatia in promoting cooperation between China and Central Eastern European countries.
Extending Chinese Premier Li Keqiang's regards to Milanovic, Liu offered condolences over Croatia's losses of human lives and property to the recent flooding.
Milanovic thanked China for condolences and assistance it offered over Croatia's floods.
The Croatian prime minister strongly condemned the deadly terrorist attack that occurred in Urumqi of west China's Xinjiang region, saying the terrorists should be brought to justice.
Liu said terrorists are the common enemy of the human race and the Chinese government will punish terrorists severely and resolutely safeguard the safety of people's lives and property as well as social stability.
