Over 400 Primary Schools Built Up in Villages of Guizhou Province
Last year, Guizhou Province started to implement National Poverty-Stricken Area Compulsory Education Project.
Seven months afterwards, 443 rural primary schools have been built up in the Wumeng Mountain Ranges and mountain areas where the Miao ethnic group inhabits.
The Chinese government set up a special fund to support the compulsory education project in 9 provinces in west China. The government investment in the education project was 316 million yuan. In the past three years, the total investment by the central and local governments amounts to 866 million yuan. (March 4)
