Falun Gong: An Adverse Current against Social Progress
A Commentary in the People's Daily today censures the essence of Falun Gong and damages done by it. It describes Falun Gong as an adverse current against social development and progress. Facts show, it says, Falun Gong harbours insidious political aim in opposition to science, humanity, society and the government. It runs counter to modern civilization, socialist democracy and legal system, it points outs.
Anti-humanity and anti-science feature Falun Gong. Li Hongzhi advocates the existence of spiritual beings, the imperishability of soul, the super-material and supernatural willpower. He calls himself a superman who can observe the true look of the universe and fit up a "Falun Wheel" in human body. He says that ailment is the bad deeds left over by the previous lives. He launches attacks on human progress and fabricates "the explosion of the earth" and the "doomsday" in a bid to poison people's minds. Falun Gong's fallacies are similar to the 'doomsday' and "atonement" theories of the notorious foreign cults.

Anti-society and anti-government is the insidious political objective of Falun Gong which cannot be covered up with great efforts. Under the banner of "truthfulness, benevolence and forbearance", Li Hongzhi admonishes his followers to do good things. He proclaims that Falun Gong is not an organized body and not interest in politics and himelf always places premium on social stability. Does Li Hongzhi so behave himself as what he said? No. He has said that "there are lots of problems in society which the government cannot solve" to stir up discontent among the masses. Isn't that he is not interested in politics? He had also instigated the inveigled masses to besiege mass media and government bodies and even gone so far as to map up the "April 25" event, openly undermining social stability, interfering in reform and opening up and the socialist modernization drive.
Facts indicate that Falun Gong has closely-knitted organizations. The Falun Dafa Research Society is its supreme body governing 39 general guiding stations, 1900 guiding stations and 2800 exercising points. Li Hongzhi's directive can swiftly get to every practitioner through this pyramidal system. In the present-day China, science changes with each passing day, the economy is unfolding rapidly, civilization is deeply rooted in the heart of the people and the legal system is increasingly consummating. li Hongzhi's act against science, humanity, society and government is like an ant trying to topple a giant tree. After the government took a drastic step to ban Falun Gong, Falun Gong collapsed immediately, the deceived followers waked up to their mistakes and the people in the whole country are elated - an inevitable outcome for the illegal Falun Gong cult.
