China's Working Class Urged To Take Lead In Criticizing Falun Gong
A Xinhua News Agency August 2 commentary " The Working Class Should Stand in the Forefront of Criticizing Falun Gong" said that the nationwide political struggle against Li Hongzhi and the Falun Gong should be led by the working class.
It said that the People's Republic of China is a socialist country led by the working class with a people's democratic dictatorship that is based on an alliance of workers and peasants. In China, the working class is the representative of advanced productive forces and the fundamental dynamic force for social stability, it said.
Li Hongzhi took advantage of people's desire to improve their health to spread his fallacies and some workers followed him, it said.
Since the founding of the New China in 1949, the life span of the Chinese has been increasing because of improvements in social conditions and the development of science and technology, it said, so, to become good masters of their country, the working class should believe in and study science to distinguish between truth and falsehood and to be the masters of their own fate.
The commentary said that solving the Falun Gong problem as soon as possible is in the basic interests of workers and that workers should do a good job in their work and support the Communist Party Central Committee's crackdown on Falun Gong and help maintain social stability. (Xinhua)
