China Bans Falun Gong

Beijing Destroys 300,000 Confiscated Falun Gong Publications

The Beijing Municipal Government on July 28 destroyed around 300,000 confiscated books and other materials on Falun Gong .

Related departments have intensified their efforts in the search for the illegally-published materials since the central authorities banned Falun Gong on July 22. And a number of involved publishing houses, wholesalers, and retail outlets have been closed down.

Long Xinmin, head of the Municipal Publicity Department, said this is a crucial part of the implementation of the central authorities' ban on Falun Gong, and that they will strengthen the fight to confiscate related materials to ensure the normal order and the healthy development of the capital's cultural markets.
