China Bans Falun Gong

China to Eliminate Falun Gong Publications

China's top agency for anti-pornography and illegal publications has called for the destruction of all publications and materials related to Falun Gong.

A circular issued recently by the agency said that all localities should immediately organize activities to destroy Falun Gong publications.

The move is in line with the circulars already issued by the State Press and Publication Administration, the Ministry of Public Security, the State Administration for Industry and Commerce, the General Administration of Customs, and the Ministry of Culture on banning Falun Gong-related publications and audio and video-tapes, the circular said.

The publications to be destroyed are mainly those confiscated by the concerned government departments and those turned in by Falun Gong practitioners.

Destroying Falun Gong-related materials conforms with the popular will, the circular noted. (Xinhua)
