--The Yu Garden

henan.jpg (10209 bytes)     Covering 1,086 square m. of land, the Yu Garden is characteristic of the gardening art of North China with historical-cultural significance. An arched wall and a straight wall join with each other in the formation of ¡°ÈË¡± with relief on them. Also found in the garden is a path flanked with 1,999 porcelain vases. The main object of the garden is a Shang-Dynasty bronze tripod and the plaza is paved in the pattern of the Chinese character ¡°Ô¥¡±, a simplified appellation of Henan. With these cultural designs and flowerbeds of tree peony and chrysanthemum, the garden shows a perfect harmony between man and nature.
