Following is a biographical sketch of He Luli, who was just elected vice-chairwoman of the Standing Committee of the Ninth National People's Congress (NPC):

He Luli, female; born June, 1934; a native of Heze, Shandong Province; member of Revolutionary Committee of Chinese Kuomintang(RCCK); graduated from Beijing Medical College; university education; senior doctor. Worked as doctor at Beijing Children's Hospital, senior doctorof Beijing No.2 Hospital, 1957-1984; served as deputy head of Xicheng (Western) District, Beijing, 1984-1988.

Served as vice-mayor of Beijing, vice-chairman of RCCK Central Committee, chairman of RCCK Beijing Municipal Committee,1988-1996.

Serving as vice-chairman of Eighth National Committee ofChinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and chairman of RCCK Central Committee since 1996.

Standing Committee member of Seventh and Eighth CPPCC National Committees; and elected CPPCC vice-chairman during Fourth Session of Eighth CPPCC National Committee.
