Cambodian King Reiterates One-China Principle

BEIJING, July 25 (Xinhua)-- Cambodian King Norodom Sihanouk reiterated that Taiwan is a province of China, and that there is only one China in the world, not "one China, one Taiwan" or "two Chinas".

The Cambodian king, who is currently in Beijing for a routine medical check-up and recuperation, issued a statement concerning Taiwan here on Saturday.

"On the Taiwan 'question'," the statement stressed, " I has since 1955 declared anywhere, including the United Nations, that Taiwan is a province of China, and that there is only one China in the world, not 'one China, one Taiwan' or 'two Chinas'."

Cambodia will never recognize Taiwan as a "state", because Taiwan is only a province of China, King Norodom Sihanouk's statement said.
