Uganda Insists on
"One-China" Policy
KAMPALA, July 21 (Xinhua) -- A senior official of the Ugandan
foreign ministry said Wednesday that this east African country will insist on a "One
China" policy, adding this position will never be changed.
During his meeting with Zheng Hekang, Charge d'Affaires of the Chinese embassy in Uganda
here, Harold Acemah, director of Multilateral Organizations and Treaties of the Ugandan
Foreign Ministry, said Uganda understands deeply the policy of the Chinese government for
Taiwan and that the viewpoint of two Chinas cannot be accepted.
Acemah expressed his hope that after Hongkong and Macao return to their motherland, the
issue of Taiwan would be solved as soon as possible and therefore the unification of the
whole China can be realized. |
