Bangladesh Committed to "One-China Policy"

DHAKA, July 21 (Xinhua) -- Bangladesh is fully committed to its "one-China policy" and considers Taiwan as an integral part of China, Foreign Minister Abdus Samad Azad said here on Wednesday.

Bangladesh believes in its "one-China policy" and that "Taiwan is an integral part of China," Azad told the official BSS news agency following the recent separatist remarks by Lee Teng-hui.

Bangladesh has excellent relations with China, and the two countries have developed extensive and mutually beneficial relations, especially after the visit of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to China in 1996, he said.
