Vietnam Adheres to "One China" Policy: Spokeswoman

HANOI, July 17 (Xinhua) -- Vietnamese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Phan Thuy Thanh told the press on Saturday that Taiwan is an inalienable part of the Chinese territory.

Asked to comment on the recent separatist remarks of Lee Teng-hui, Thanh said that "Vietnam's stand on the Taiwan issue has been many times reaffirmed."

"Vietnam recognizes that the government of the People's Republic of China is the sole legitimate government which represents whole China," reiterated the Vietnamese spokeswoman.
