China Improving Construction Industry Laws

BEIJING, August 9 (Xinhua) -- China is working on laws and regulations that deal with the construction industry to standardize controls over the large construction business.

According to the Ministry of Construction, China is drafting a series of laws, rules and regulations on residential buildings, construction work, and contracting that are in accordance with the Construction Law.

In addition, it is working on rules on construction safety and engineering design and the City Planning Law is being revised. Rules and regulations on urban drainage, gardening, central heating, and utilization of gas have been submitted to the State Council.

According to the ministry source, China has passed some 49 laws and rules on construction in recent years, which include the Urban Real Estate Administration Law, Construction Law, Urban Afforestation Rule, Urban Water Supply Rule, Urban Road Administration Rule, and Registered Architect Rule, which have helped put the country's construction business in order and have helped urban construction and development.
