China Publishes List of Top Ten Trade Partners Between Jan. and Sep.

Beijing has finalized a list of its top trade partners between January and September, 2001, with data provided by the General Administration of Customs.

Following are the latest figures about China's trade with its top ten partners from January to September.

-- Japan: total, US$64.726 billion, up 8.3 per cent year-on-year; Exports to Japan, US$32.740 billion, up 10 per cent; Imports, US$31.986 billion, up 6.6 per cent.

-- The United States: total, US$60.077 billion, up 9. 9 per cent; Exports, US$40.306 billion, up 4.8 per cent; Imports, US$19.770 billion, up 21.9 per cent.

-- The European Union: total, US$56.851 billion, up 12. 6 per cent; Exports, US$30.110 billion, up 5.9 per cent; Imports, US$26.741 billion, up 21.2 per cent.

-- Hong Kong Special Administrative Region: total, US$40.680 billion, up 2.8 per cent; Exports, US$33.681 billion up 2.9 per cent; Imports, US$6.999 billion, up 2. 6 per cent.

-- ASEAN countries: total, US$30.334 billion, up 6.8 per cent; Exports, US$13.138 billion, up 6 per cent; Imports, US$17.196 billion, up 7.4 per cent.

-- The Republic of Korea: total, US$26.714 billion, up 6 per cent; Exports, US$9.098 billion, up 11.4 per cent; Imports, US$17.616 billion, up 3.5 per cent.

-- Taiwan Province: total, US$23.384 billion, up 5 per cent; Exports, US$3.616 billion, down 2.4 per cent; Imports, US$19.768 billion, up 6.5 per cent.

-- Russia: total, US$7.593 billion, up 31.5 per cent; exports, US$1.783 billion, up 19.8 per cent; Imports, US$5. 810 billion, up 35.6 per cent.

-- Australia: total, US$6.5 billion, up 4.8 per cent; Exports, US$2.589 billion, up 3.2 per cent; Imports, US$3. 911 billion, up 5.9 per cent.

-- Canada: total, US$5.451 billion, up 4.3 per cent; Exports, US$2.543 billion, up 6.4 per cent; Imports, US$2.908 billion, up 2.6 per cent.
