Pak Has No Information of Crashed US Helicopter

Spokesman for Pakistani Army Rashid Gureshi told a press conference Tuesday that he has noinformation of a U.S. helicopter that reportedly crashed inside Pakistan.

"As we know, there has not been such incident in Pakistan", said Rashid Qureshi.

"Efforts have been taken to locate the incident, but so far we found nothing," he said.

The Pakistan-based Afghan Islamic Press (AIP) reported early that four American soldiers have been killed while their helicopter crashed in Pakistani province of Balochistan after being hit by Taliban anti-aircraft gunfire inside Afghanistan.

In response to a question concerning reported influx of Afghan refugees, a Foreign Office spokesman present at the conference denied that a large number of Afghans had entered Pakistan, saying, "For the last two days, nobody has crossed (the Pak-Afghan border)."

He also urged the United Nations to hasten relief work inside Afghanistan, asserting that as far as provision of assistance goods is concerned, it can go to Afghanistan, and that "it may not be very difficult to set up refugee camps" in the country three or four kilometers from along the border.

"Food can be supplied inside (Afghanistan), and camps can be established inside," the spokesman stated clearly.

When asked about internal security in face of the mounting strikes on the neighboring country, the spokesman said, "No one is allowed to disrupt civic life" in Pakistan, adding that "law will take its course."

Referring Pakistan's role in the ongoing war against terrorism in Afghanistan, he stressed that so far "no bombing has taken place from any base of Pakistan."
