Shanghai, ROK Futures Exchanges Seal Ties

China's Shanghai Futures Exchange and the Futures Exchange of the Republic of Korea (ROK) recently signed a MOU and agreed to set up cooperative relations on the development of products and the exchange of information.

General Manager Jiang Yang of the Shanghai Futures Exchange said the setting-up of the ties would boost the exchanges between the two sides, while his ROK counterpart believed the ties would bring about great mutual benefits and contribute to the cooperation between the financial industries of the two countries.

In 1999, the Shanghai Futures Exchange was established by merging three existing futures houses in China's financial center,Shanghai. Currently, it has 219 member companies.

The ROK Futures Exchange was set up in February 1999.
