Detained American Dies of Illness in Afghanistan
A US national, who has been detained by Taliban for 10 days, died in a hospital in southern Afghan city of Kandahar on Sunday, according to the Afghan Islamic Press (AIP).
Taliban envoy to
Pakistan
told AIP that the American national named John Bolton was arrested by Taliban soldiers on October 26 in Spin Boldak near Pak-Afghan border and got ill after being shifted to Kandahar city.
He was sent to a hospital in Kandahar for treatment but it could not save his life.
According to AIP, body of the American was handed to a Red Cross clinic after his death on Sunday.
