Accident Halts Rail Traffic in NE China

The railway traffic between Dalian and Shenyang, in northeast China's Liaoning Province, was halted Friday for 94 minutes due to a collision between a truck and a train.

The stricken truck was crossing the railway when its engine suddenly went dead. It was hit by the train, which had already activated its emergency brakes.

The railway supervisor present at the site was injured and hospitalized. The train had to go back to Dalian to change the damaged engine before heading to Shenyang.

Police are now tracing the truck driver who ran away after the accident.
