Li Lanqing Calls for Cracking down on Pyramid Sale Activity
November 1 saw the State Council hold a videophone conference, calling for cracking down pyramid sale, rectifying and regulating construction market and intensifying taxation levy management. Li Lanqing, Chinese Vice-Premier gave a speech and stressed at the meeting that With heavy blow dealt to the faked goods in order to regulate the cultural market China will at the same time focus on cracking down on pyramid sale activity, rectifying and regulating construction market and intensifying taxation levy management.
Li Lanqing stressed that China will severely crack down on pyramid sale activity. For in recent years, pyramid sale and other sales in varied forms began to prevail again in some places, causing very negative influence. The country will spare no effort to put a check on the activity and mete out severe punishment. A caution system should also be established for nipping it in the bud when such activity is in its initial stage.
Li Lanqing asked to fully rectify and regulate construction market order. In recent years, some serious problems cropped up, such as bidding evasion, false bidding, fraudulence during bidding and illegal procedures on construction and shoddy work and negligence on construction quality, etc. Some government departments failed to implement careful supervision, and some corruption phenomena still exist. We must take measures to put the construction market in order as regards those harsh problems.
Li Lanqing also pointed out that China will also straighten out taxation levy order, strengthen tax management and continue to fulfill three tasks: first, to strike on export tax rebate problem, second, to examine various tax fraud behaviors, and third, to strengthen personal and enterprises income tax collection management. By reorganizing taxation law enforcement team, perfecting taxation law construction and completing taxation system, China will fully promote a lawful taxation management system to a higher degree.
