Since the establishment of diplomatic relations more than 40 years ago, China and Nepal have conducted effective cooperation in the fields of politics, trade, economy, culture and education, and in a range of regional and international affairs as well, Chi said.

He said China always places great emphasis on the friendly cooperative relations between the two countries and the two armed forces, which not only serves regional peace and stability, but also contributes to peace and development of the world at large.

Chi also briefed the guests on China's domestic situation and China's views on regional and international issues.

He expressed gratitude to the Nepalese government for its support to the Chinese government on the issues of Taiwan, Tibet and human rights.

Acharya, who arrived here Tuesday for an eight-day visit to China, said Nepal treasures the friendship with China spoke highly of the economic achievements China has made.

He said the Nepalese government will, as always, adhere to the one China principle and will never allow anyone to conduct activities aimed at jeopardizing China's national security within the territory of Nepal.
