Shenzhen Reports Double-Digit Growth in Overseas Investment

Shenzhen of south China's Guangdong Province had an inflow of overseas investment totaling 2.52 billion U.S. dollars in the first nine months of the year.

Sources from the city's foreign trade and economic cooperation bureau said the volume went up by 15.89 percent from the same period last year.

Shenzhen faces Hong Kong across a local river. It is also one of China's five special economic zones. Export-oriented industries, especially high-tech businesses are flourishing in the southern coastal city.

The city approved 1,373 overseas-financed projects from Januaryto September, with contracts worth 3.11 billion U.S. dollars, up 56.51 percent.
