Oscar-winning Composer to Give Concert in Hometown

The water in his hometown can always inspire the imagination of Tan Dun, an Oscar-winning composer, who is going to give a concert featuring different sounds of water Sunday in Changsha, capital of central China's Hunan province.

Water is an important symbol of the province's culture and this concert will show the audience how fantastic water can sound, said Tan Thursday.

At the concert, Tan will use special devices to produce various sounds using water of an ancient well at his hometown. It will be interesting, novel and bring a totally new feeling to the audience, Tan added.

Tan, won the Oscar for Best Original Score at the 73rd annual Academy Awards for his music in the movie Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, which also gained the award for Best Foreign Film.
