Chinese Police Head Praises Sino-German Cooperation

China and Germany have conducted comprehensive and fruitful cooperation on combating cross-border crimes, training of police and police equipment, said Chinese Public Security Minister Jia Chunwang Thursday.

Jia made the remarks while holding working talks with visiting German Interior Minister Otto Schily, who arrived here Wednesday on the entourage of German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder.

In retrospect, Jia said that last year Chinese Public Security Minister and German Interior Minister exchanged visits and signed a cooperation agreement on combating transnational crimes and the two ministries are keeping close contact and cooperation.

Looking ahead, Jia hoped the two ministries to strengthen cooperation, thus making more contribution to Sino-Germany relations.

During the talks, the two ministers also exchanged views on striking terrorism, international economic crimes, drug-related crimes and illegal migration.
