Earlier, the Taliban envoy Mullah Zaeef requested to hold talks with the visiting UN special representative to Afghanistan Lakhdar Brahimi in Islamabad, but he was refused by the UN spokesman Eric Falt. The spokesman said Brahimi had "no time" to meet Zaeef to discuss the US-led air strikes against the Islamic militia. "They have conducted operations by utilizing the old maps. But the Mujahideen were not present in these bases. Resources and equipment had been shifted from these areas.
