Thai Embassy in Pakistan Receives Suspected Letter

The Thai Embassy in Islamabad received a letter suspected to be contaminated with the anthrax, the Thai News Agency(TNA) said Wednesday.

Thai Ambassador to Pakistan Saksit Srisorn was quoted as saying that the Thai Embassy to Pakistan received the suspected letter on Saturday.

Two diplomatic staff found a message threatening the spread of the anthrax, and also found suspected powder inside the letter, he said.

The letter was then sent to medical experts for inspection and the result was expected to be known by today, he stated.

The two diplomatic staff were also sent for medical checks up, but no anthrax symptoms had been found, he said.

The Thai Embassy in Islamabad is still open to serve visitors, according to the top Thai envoy.
